Purpose for my site

Thanks for coming to my site! 

The purpose of my site is to help people and be helped by people. Help in any way that I can. I have a limited set of skills and interests, but I am writing and sharing my life to help and encourage you along your life. Through the years I have wanted to have a site to share my thoughts, ideas, songs, and other interests. (I AM FINALLY GETTING AROUND TO IT!!, no anger, just excitement) In this site, you will find these topics: Music, musings, life experiences, travel stories, reviews of podcasts, books, products, restaurants, etc. Within these posts, you will discover some of my guiding principles. “Everyone is weird in their own way”, “While the world is a scary place, it is meant to be discovered and while doing so, we find ourselves” (These topics will probably be blog posts someday)

In this site, you will find out a lot about me. I am putting this out into the world for many reasons. One main reason is for my children (Samantha, Isaac, and Ethan) while I have had many conversations with them, it was hard for them to understand due to the context that we had those conversations in. This site will serve as a diary of sorts, these writings will be written so that anyone that reads them will understand me more fully and probably themselves.

Through life, there have been many times when I have misrepresented myself and then regretted it. Sometimes, I would go back and try and make it right and others times, I just hoped that the people would understand. I do believe that this is part of the learning lesson of life, trying things out and seeing what works and sometimes getting it wrong and going back to the drawing board and trying again. I say this to say, yes I am human and I have made mistakes. (Most likely I will make more, hopefully not big ones) To further this thought, I wanted to say, I may get something wrong, or you may see it a different way, I welcome your view and comments. I did not set this up to be a soapbox, I want to use this as a place to engage in conversations. To reach more people to encourage those to live life, learn from each other and love people unashamedly.

Most people that know me, know that I am an upfront, honest, loving and caring person. I only want good for people. While this is the case, I know that by opening up, on this kind of level, on the internet that I am becoming more vulnerable than ever. I am ok with that. Another one of my guiding principles is this ” When I become vulnerable, genuine and open, how someone chooses to respond to that tells their character and insecurities” I am sure that there will be times that I will get hurt, and need to remind myself of this principle, but I also believe that the people of this world cannot be defined by our worst abilities, but we must all learn and admit when we are wrong and have the pursuit for a better life for ourselves and for generations to come. Since at times this site will serve as a diary, I understand that there may be people that will try and use the information for malicious purposes. I urge you to not give in to that temptation, it leads to a life full of tough consequences, if not in the physical, in the beliefs of our minds. It is part of the short game of temporal satisfaction, play the long game of integrity.
